A daily weekday coach service connecting Goulburn to the Canberra CBD will be extended for another year.
“We’ve been working closely with the community to ensure this service meets their needs – it’s the community’s feedback that encouraged us to tweak it to suit locals who wanted to use it for their daily commute to Canberra and extending the trial will allow us to see how well it meets that demand,” Mr Paul Toole, the Minister for Regional Transport and Roads said.
“We are committed to building a safer, stronger regional NSW and having a strong public transport offering in centres like Goulburn plays a huge part in that.”
Mr Toole, said the service was part of the NSW Government’s vision to help make public transport a first-choice option for people living in the regions.
The service takes customers from Goulburn to Canberra Civic and home during the morning and evening peak Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman said.
“We’ve received great feedback from locals who use the service to travel to work in Canberra, or travel to the hospital, university or airport.”
“We know many people curbed their travel last year due to COVID-19 and extending this trial will give us a better gauge of demand outside the peak of a pandemic. We hope even more people will give it a try over the next 12 months and show there’s enough demand to make it permanent.”
Customers can travel from Goulburn at 6.30am and return from Canberra Civic at 5.30pm, arriving back in Goulburn at 7pm. The service also stops at Canberra Airport, Bruce Calvary Hospital, Canberra University and Belconnen Westfield to pick up booked customers.
Customers can book the trial coach services online at www.transportnsw.info/regional or by phoning NSW TrainLink on 13 22 32.
