An estimated $1.06 million is predicted to come into the local economy, when the 27th national meet of the Model A Ford club is held in Goulburn next September.
About 200 cars and more than 400 people are set to attend the week-long conference.
“I look forward to welcoming the participants and spectators of the nationals in, which will bring large crowds to our region and significant economic benefits”, said Goulburn Mulwaree Council Mayor, Bob Kirk.
“Goulburn is already a regular venue for historic and other car and motorcycle clubs. We are arguably becoming the home of motorsport in Southern NSW, with the Goulburn Speedway, Pheasant Wood Circuit, Wakefield Park, the track soon to open at the Goulburn Motorcycle Club and our accessible location putting us high on the Motorsport map.”
The council has offered $5,000 of in-kind support to the Club.
The National Meet will not only bring significant economic benefit, but it also promotes a positive social contribution to Goulburn Mulwaree with vehicle runs, dinners, tours, a static car display and more.
