The NSW Government is getting on with the job of delivering a $2.7 million accessibility upgrade for Goulburn Station which will include improvements to the station’s entrance, new ambulant toilets and upgraded accessible parking spaces.
Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman said we want to make sure all our customers, including people with a disability, limited mobility, parents and carers with prams and travellers with luggage, can easily access Goulburn Station and its facilities.
“Site preparation at the station is under way with major work due to start in coming weeks,”
Mrs Tuckerman said. “We want to thank the community for their feedback on the design of the accessibility upgrade and their patience with upcoming construction activities at the station.”
Key benefits of the Goulburn Station upgrade include:
- accessibility improvements to the paths at the station entrance
- a new accessible Kiss and Ride bay with new kerb ramp
- relocated accessible parking spaces to connect to the accessible paths.
- accessibility improvements to the waiting room and ticket counter on Platform 1
- new Boarding Assistance Zone and accessible help points on Platform 1
- two new ambulant toilets
- improved lighting and wayfinding.
The upgrade is expected to be completed later this year.
